Blog

This is a blog for planetariums and dome theaters, written by planetarians and dome experts from all over our planet. With this forum we want to give the fulldome industry a voice – a forum to share good ideas and experiences between people and venues that are passionate about moving the industry forward. All posts, opinions and comments in this blog are personal and belong to its respective author.

Sciss to launch new planetarium blog - will host stories from all over the world

Cecilia Öhrner, Marketing Manager at Sciss | 2015-06-29

This summer, in the beginning of August, we are launching a new industry forum here in the form of a blog. The purpose is to spread the best-of-breed: knowledge, ideas and experiences from people with a broad variety of perspectives.

The blog will mostly feature guest writers, to bring in perspectives from outside our own sphere. The guests will be from small and big planetariums and other industry actors; spread geographically all over the world.

We want to create an open hub of inspiration and information as an addition to internal forums, by moderating diverse stories and insights. We’re hoping to create a broad and inspiring place that is more focused on solutions than just stating problems. We meet so many people all over the world that have ideas, knowledge and thoughts to share, so we decided that a blog would be a great way to moderate these voices, says Cecilia Öhrner, Marketing Manager at Sciss.

The first post on the blog will be published in the beginning of August, and some writers that are lined up are Dr. Jenny Shipway, Head of Planetarium at the Winchester Science Centre, Anjanava Maitra, General Manager at Orbit Animate in India, and Dr. Jonathan A. N. Fisher, creator of Neurodome & Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology at New York Medical College. Sciss's CEO Staffan Klashed will also bring forward some interesting perspectives on the future of the industry.

If you want to get notified when new posts are published, please sign up here.

The blog will be hosted here, at sciss.se/blog.
